Recap: TEST-FEST online x WORM (2021)
Our first year as a structurally funded talent development institution didn’t start under optimal conditions. Unlike bigger institutions, we didn’t have the infrastructure to just move all of our planned events online and have fancy livestreams. We still wanted to do SOMETHING after a year of sitting at home – and an online event was an interesting experiment to many…
On 25 April 2021, we moved our signature furniture and props to our friends at WORM, and with their help were able to livestream a TEST-FEST with previews, performances and experiments. Participating artists could use a few days to do a paid residency to work on their online performance. TEST-FEST was a joint effort of all TimeWindow members to curate, design and produce a professional output, resulting in a cosy night with more visitors than could ever fit in our own real-life space.
This event was also the catalyser to work on professionalising our branding. Designers, writers and coders within the community worked together to create a campaign for the festival reflecting our collective mood of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ from that time period. The “uncertainty squiggle” is still the foundation for this very website.
